Foreigners willing to drive on Cameroonian highway must apply and obtain an International Driver’s License (IDL)
An IDL is a document that permits you to drive legally while in Cameroon. You should always have your International Driver’s License along with your national driver’s license at all times for routine checks.
Required Documents
- A certified true copy of the National Driver’s license;
- A certified photocopy of the Driver’s license;
- Two 4×4 color photos on a white background less than three months old
- Certified photocopy of the national identity card
- A Certified photocopy of the passport
- A Certified photocopy of the visa or residence permit
How To Obtain an International Driver’s License In Cameroon?
The procedure to get an International Driver’s License in Cameroon is as follows:
- Go to the closest Delegation Of Transport in the region.
- Fill in and complete the application form.
- Submit the duly filled form along with the certified true copies of your documents.
- Next, present your valid national driving license for verification.
- Pay the application fee demanded and get a receipt.
- Return to the licensing office in two weeks to collect your International Driver’s license.
Cost of an International Driver’s License In Cameroon
It costs 12000 FCFA to produce an international driver’s license in Cameroon.
This cost is divided as follows:
- Stamp duty of the driver’s license of 10,000 FCFA.
- Fiscal stamp of 1000 FCFA;
- A receipt of 1000 FCFA;
